Peptide Therapy: What to Expect

In brief
Peptide therapy at a clinical practice begins with an evaluation, not a prescription. You meet a licensed provider, complete whatever testing is appropriate for what's being considered, and — when treatment is clinically appropriate — start a plan with scheduled follow-up. Effects are assessed over months.
Step one is the evaluation
Any program that prescribes before evaluating you isn't evaluating you. Peptides sit alongside hormone and metabolic health, so we look at the broader picture — because what looks like a peptide question is frequently a thyroid, sleep, or hormone question.
Lab testing is an important part of prescribing some peptides, though it is not absolutely necessary for every one. What gets tested depends on the peptide under consideration and on your history, and we'll explain which applies to you rather than running a standard panel on everyone.
The conversation
We'll ask what changed and when. Recovery, sleep, energy, body composition, training, stress. This part matters more than people expect — the pattern over time usually points at the cause more clearly than any single lab value.
The plan
If treatment is appropriate, we explain what's being recommended, what it's meant to do, what it isn't meant to do, and roughly when you'd expect to know whether it's working. Everything is prescribed and dispensed through licensed pharmacies.
Timeline, honestly
Peptides are signals, so change is gradual. Most people are evaluated over a period of months. Anyone promising a transformation in two weeks is selling something.
Follow-up
A check-in, and repeat labs where they're indicated. This is where a clinical program differs most from a subscription service — the follow-up is the part that tells us whether to continue, adjust, or stop.
What might mean no
Sometimes the evaluation points somewhere else, or your history makes peptide therapy inappropriate. We'll tell you plainly. A program that approves everyone isn't screening anyone.
Can this be done online?
Consultations and follow-ups work well by video anywhere in Louisiana. Any labs are arranged near you. Some visits are better in person and we'll say which.
