Dr. Adams is a board-certified OB/GYN, United States Air Force veteran, and the founder of Ascension Center for Women's Health. Since opening the practice in 2005, he has cared for more than 17,000 patients across Ascension Parish and surrounding communities.
After earning his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine, he entered the Air Force as a physician, completed his OB/GYN residency, and served as an active-duty OB/GYN, attaining the rank of Major before completing his service in 2005. That June, he founded ACWH in Gonzales — a local center built around personalized, relationship-based care.
Today his clinical focus is hormone health: individualized hormone therapy for women and men, from perimenopause and menopause to low testosterone and sexual wellness. He also serves as Medical Director of The Med Spa of Ascension next door.
Rooted in the community
Known around town as "Doc"
Ask around Gonzales and you'll hear it: to a generation of local kids and their parents, Dr. Adams is simply "Doc." For years he has poured his time into youth athletics — through AP Baseball and Impact Sports in Gonzales — helping give the parish's young athletes fields to play on, seasons to look forward to, and adults who show up for them. He also coached basketball at St. Theresa School in Gonzales for 11 years. Many of the families he cheers for at the ballpark are the same families he cares for in the office.
That investment in Ascension Parish's youth is the same idea behind the practice: this is home, and you take care of home. He and his wife, Andrea — high-school sweethearts from Ponchatoula — raised their three sons here in Gonzales, and are now proud grandparents to twin boys, staying deeply rooted in the friendships, families, and traditions of the parish.
