Hormone care for men, done properly.
Most of our male patients were sent here by a wife, partner, friend or co-worker who is already a patient — because they saw what careful, physician-directed hormone care looks like. Straightforward and honest, with follow-up that actually happens.

1 · Why here
A women’s health practice, and a good number of men
It is a fair question, and the answer is straightforward. Most of our male patients first arrived because a wife or partner was already a patient here — she saw what unhurried, physician-directed hormone care looked like, and told him to stop putting it off. Now most of our male patients are referred by another male friend, co-worker or family member we have treated.
The clinical case is simpler still. Hormone medicine is the same discipline whichever body it is practised in: measure properly, dose to the individual, monitor what happens, adjust. A practice that has done that for women in Ascension Parish since 2005 is well placed to do it for their husbands, and increasingly does.
Visits are private and matter-of-fact. Nothing about being here is designed to make you feel out of place.
2 · Services for men
Where most men start
Three things account for nearly every reason a man books in here. They overlap more than people expect, which is rather the point of having one practice look at all of them.
3 · What to expect
How it actually goes
The things men most often want to know before booking, answered before you have to ask.
Someone probably told you to make this call.
They were right, and it takes a few minutes. If your levels turn out to be fine, that is worth knowing too.
4 · Common questions
What men ask us first
Why would a man go to a women's health practice?
Because hormone medicine is the same discipline either way: measure properly, dose to the individual, monitor, adjust. Many of our male patients first came on the recommendation of a partner; now most are referred by a male friend, co-worker or family member we have treated. Men's visits are private and entirely matter-of-fact.
What do you treat men for?
Low testosterone and testosterone therapy, testosterone pellets, and medical weight loss including GLP-1 medications where appropriate.
Do I need a referral?
No. Start with a call to the office and we take it from there.
Do I need an exam to get started?
No. Your history is filled in at home through the patient portal, and the first appointment is a conversation. Where bloodwork is needed it is arranged separately, here in Gonzales, at LabCorp (our preferred lab), or at any lab you choose.
Will it be awkward?
No. Visits are private and practical, a good share of them happen by video, and you will be talking to someone who has these conversations every day. Most men say afterwards that the awkward part was the months they spent not booking.
How do I know if my testosterone is low?
A blood test. Symptoms — fatigue, low drive, weight around the middle, poor sleep, low mood — raise the question, but bloodwork is what answers it, and we look at the related markers alongside it.
Can I do this without coming to Gonzales?
Not entirely. Your first visit is in person — testosterone is a controlled medication, and we like to meet new patients properly. After that, lab review and follow-ups work by secure video anywhere in Louisiana, with labs at LabCorp (our preferred lab) or any lab you choose. Pellet insertions are done at the Gonzales office.
Is any of it covered by insurance?
Testosterone consultations and follow-up office visits are covered with Blue Cross Blue Shield or Aetna. Medical weight loss, peptides and the pellet procedure are cash-pay. Every cost question is answered plainly during your free consultation.
