About the Practice · Since 2005
Independent medicine, and the time to actually listen.
Ascension Center for Women's Health opened in 2005 as the parish's first dedicated women's health practice. We are named for Ascension Parish, our home — we are not owned or managed by any hospital system or corporate entity. Twenty-one years and more than 17,000 patients later, the practice is still owned by the physician who founded it, which changes everything about how a visit feels.
Unhurried visits. The same familiar team. Care that treats the whole person and root causes — not just symptoms.

From the founder
"I opened this practice in 2005 because I believed the women of our community deserved care that doesn't rush them out the door. Twenty-one years later, that's still the whole idea."
— Doc

Independent & physician-owned
You'll feel the difference in the little things.
No corporate owner sets our schedule or our priorities. Here's what that actually looks like from the exam-room chair:
Your appointment ends when your questions do.
Not when the schedule says. Visits run as long as they need to.
The person who knows your story is the one in the room.
The same familiar team every visit — many patients have been with us over a decade.
We chase the why, not just the what.
Hormones, sleep, weight, and prevention read together — with labs when they're warranted.
You'll hear real numbers before you decide anything.
Costs are walked through during your free consultation. No surprises later.
